Tesla Model 3 Survey Form

Tesla Model 3

The purpose of this survey is to allow Tesla Model 3 owners to share their experience with battery pack capacity and how it changes over time and distance driven. If you are a Model 3 owner, please contribute your experience to the survey by filling in the information below. You are welcome to enter data again as you increase your time and distance.

If you have previously entered a report on this vehicle, use the Model 3 Battery Survey Update Report

Before you start, you may want to collect several bits of information from your car.

Measuring Battery Capacity

To get the most accurate reading of your battery capacity, you should read the "Rated Range" (not Projected Range or Ideal Range) from the charge state screen shortly after unplugging. If it's not convenient to get the reading at the best possible time, enter whatever you can read from the closest time.

Your Model 3

The VIN sticker is on the driver's door frame just below the latch.

The VIN is printed at the bottom of the sticker and the manufactured month/year is in the upper left corner.

Model:

Year:

VIN Sequence Number (last 5 or 6 digits, no letters): (kept private)
For the example in the image on the right, the VIN sequence number is 3261 (omitting the leading zeros). This portion of the VIN is required in order to properly identify vehicles and follow-up reports for the same vehicle. It will only be used internally for the survey and will not be disclosed in any reports.

Manufactured Date:
To get the assembly date, open the driver's door, there is a sticker at the bottom right of the door opening. On the top left of that sticker is the build month and year, eg 01/18 for January, 2018. Estimate this if the manufacture date isn't shown on your VIN sticker, e.g., vehicles delivered in Norway.

When did you take delivery? (mm/dd/yyyy)

What was the status of your Model 3 when you acquired it?

Onboard Charger Type

Wheel Size
If you're not sure of your wheel size, you can read it from the sidewalls of your tires. In the tire size it's the number after the R. So if your tire size is 235/45R18 you have 18" wheels and if you have 235/40R19 tires then your wheel size is 19". The original wheel size delivered with your vehicle is shown on your VIN sticker.
If you have a custom wheel size not listed, please note it in the comments.

What is your Model 3 ownership status?

Odometer at delivery: miles

Current Odometer: miles

Firmware version: e.g., 8.1 (2017.50.3)
To get the firmware version, tap the Tesla logo at the top of the touchscreen.
